Catholic Charities Adult Day Services San Francisco

Catholic Charities Adult Day Services San Francisco offers non-medical personal care, supervision and assistance for seniors and adults with disabilities who have lost physical function, memory or social support. Through mentally and physically stimulating activities, it aims to support independence while giving family caregivers respite, and it is co-located with the Catholic Charities Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center. The program has multiple activity rooms and an enclosed courtyard, and serves no more than 32 participants a day; it is funded in part by San Francisco's Department of Disability and Aging Services. Families describe very friendly staff and say their relatives enjoy attending, and one family credits the program with supporting their mother through dementia for 20 years. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 35 participants.

Staff provide non-medical personal care, supervision and assistance in a structured, therapeutic setting, including the co-located Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center for frail or chronically impaired adults. Activities described by families include arts and crafts, singing, word games, bingo, baking, nutrition lessons, parties and musical entertainers, and lunch is served. A caregiver support group is offered, and monthly menus and calendars are published in English and Spanish.

The program is at 50 Broad St, San Francisco, CA 94112, near Highway 280 and half a block from Muni's M and 54 lines, with free parking for visitors. Program hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and office hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday except federal holidays.
