Dungarvin Ohio Adult Day Services

Dungarvin is a family-owned national organization that has supported people with developmental disabilities in Ohio since 1992, offering residential, day, in-home, shared living and respite services. Its Adult Day Services give adults 18 and older structured daytime programming focused on daily living skills, communication and community participation, at its day program center and at community sites. Support is available one-to-one or in small groups, and behavioral support and assistive technology are built into the day for people who need them. Reviews are mixed: one parent says her daughter is happy when she comes home in the afternoon and calls the staff very accommodating, while others mention poor customer service and a neighbor complains about a van honking early in the morning. Dungarvin provides its services under Ohio's Medicaid home and community-based waivers.

Days combine recreation, education, volunteering and practice of daily living skills, with support for communication and social skills. People can explore their interests in small groups or one-to-one, at the day program center or out in the community. Behavioral supports are woven into activities for people with emotional and adaptive challenges, and staff help with tools that support communication or mobility.
