Stepping Stone Adult Development Center opened in 2019 to create a fun, safe and accessible place for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities. The north Phoenix program on Cave Creek Road focuses on education, socializing, nutrition and physical education, and a second Stepping Stone day program operates in west Glendale. In 2021 the organization opened Huff's Athletics Gym, which program members can use. Stepping Stone also provides respite, habilitation and attendant care. A grandparent in a review describes good recreational programs, knowledgeable staff and a clean building.
Services & Care
Activities include stretching and exercise, book discussion groups, daily life skills, arts and crafts, musical entertainment and sing-alongs, and science experiments, plus a sensory room. Members go on local outings to parks, museums and the library, and the program marks holidays and birthdays.
